ABOUT
Elaine Nikula
AUTHOR
Elaine Nikula is mother to eleven beautiful children. The chaos of life in a big family taught her so much and inspired her to write after her children were grown. Laugh and cry with her over the many hilarious and poignant memories that bubbled out into her blog.
One of those stories morphed into her first children’s picture book, Snitcher Snatcher Cookie Catcher, about three boys accused of stealing cookies from the freezer. They insist they are innocent, so who can it possibly be? You’ll be surprised! That experience was so much fun that Elaine published a second book about the lengths those three boys go to get licorice! The Three Boys and the Chewy Gooey Licorice can be found at the link on this website or on Amazon.
Growing up on a Minnesota farm provided Elaine with wholesome down-to-earth values. She hopes to inspire moms to realize their worth and the importance of family. A mom has the most important job in the world raising children, the future of society. They need encouragement and support.
Elaine believes in reading purely for enjoyment. Reading should be fun for kids, so that they are always looking for the next good book. Vocabulary, knowledge, and imagination increase through reading, and stress release and brain exercise are also wonderful benefits. Even better are the lasting bonds and life-long warm memories formed when Mom tucks her little ones under her arm or gathers teens around her chair and reads aloud to them. A child’s secure attachment to mom and their own self-confidence is shaped here.
Elaine loves retired life with her husband, Rod, in small-town Minnesota and delights in spoiling her grandchildren with cookies and licorice. Learning about natural health is an enduring passion. When she isn’t writing or learning, she loves to read, do road trips, and dabble in painting.
